a plant molecular biologist for its new laboratory based at Shanghai. The 
successful candidate will lead a gene discovery team involved in:
?       Identification of genes or sequences of interest (data-mining)
?       Identify sequences of EST, mRNA or genes in public databases
?       Gene cloning
?       Vector construction.


Required skills:
Requires a PhD in plant molecular biology. 
Desired skills include a strong experience in gene cloning, vector 
construction and bioinformatics.
Good understanding of biochemical pathways including disease tolerance
Ability to plan and organize experiments to efficiently complete tasks
Excellent communication skill is critical.
Use of standard software (Excel, Access, PowerPoint)


Critical experience:
Experience in primer design, PCR, vector cloning for several genes is 
needed.
Use of bioinformatics tools such as BLAST and software for gene cloning is 
mandatory.
Skills in Rice disease genes and mechanisms will be well considered.
Ability to interact with technicians and other researchers in a 
cooperative and respectful manner.
